Simply put: I’m a nostalgic person that likes to press flowers. The first bouquet I preserved was one of my own. My husband brought home a gorgeous bouquet from my favorite flower shop for our first valentines day in our first home together. It was such a special moment I had to save them. I have that frame hung in our home now, and I love having the reminder of that special day.

When it comes to floral preservation I like to keep it simple. My layouts are single layer giving each element space to be appreciated. I take my time putting together a design that is balanced and thoughtful. All the elements get their time to shine in this style- from the big bold blooms, to the more delicate elements of the arrangement.

Celebrating the beauty of pressed flowers

The Process

  • Save the date

Each January floral preservation books will become available for that year. You can request at any time during the year, but this is the best time guarantee your date.

  • Leave it to me

Each stem will pass through careful and practiced hands to be pressed according to their individual habits. Then left in the press to dry the traditional way.

  • Enjoy your blooms forever

Together we will decide background, frame color and content. Once carefully arranged and put behind UV protective glass, your flowers will be framed and ready to hang in your home.

FAQs

Can you press my bouquet into a design ? Like a heart or a bird?

Unfortunately, no. With pressed bouquet flowers I keep the layout simple.(look through the gallery below to see examples) I have found this to be the most enjoyable method for myself and it helps you to know what to expect. I find these layouts to be the best way to enjoy the beauty of the blooms for what they are. This style has a classic and timeless feel.

When should I submit a request to book floral preservation with you?

I open my preservation books up each January. This is the ideal time to submit a request and make sure you have your date saved. I have a limited amount I can take on per month. However, you can submit last minute requests or shoot me an email to see if I have availability.

How should I get the flowers to you? Can I mail them?

Your flowers will have to be hand delivered to my home in Omaha, Nebraska. No longer than 3 days following your event. I do not currently accept bouquets via the mail. I have not tested the process enough to confidently instruct you to mail them, and would hate for you to lose your blooms !

Why do you require a deposit?

I require a $100 deposit at the time of booking. This will go towards your final order. Space is limited in my plant presses, and this is to guarantee your space !

What should I expect to pay for my frames?

Between $330-$600. The minimum order for a pressed bouquet is $330. This would be your flowers in a 12” square wood frame with UV protective glass.

Do all flowers press well?

Nope! Which is why before I can accept preservation clients I like to know a little bit about the colors and types of flowers you might use. White flowers are notoriously tricky and all white bouquets are not a good fit for my work. Flower petals that hold a lot of water and are fleshy (think orchids and calla lilly) tend to not press well- I can still press them and see how they come out, but a bouquet that was primarily composed of flowers like this.

How long after can I expect to get my frames back?

On average about 4-6 months. The flowers will in my press for 6-8 weeks to ensure they are 100% dry. Once out of the press I will do some sample layouts and reach out to you to confirm before moving forward.

How long will my pressed flowers last?

When taken care of I have seen pressed flowers last decades. I will frame your flowers only once they are 100% dry and they will be protected with UV conservation glass. The UV glass provides protection from the sun, which will fade dried flowers. I do still recommend avoiding direct sunlight/uv light when possible.
